Bio Plastic Garden Pots

Commercial Composting Trial November 2006

Tested were: – 150 x Brown 8” Planter Pots made with addition of 3% PDQ-H additive.

Trail Time was 6 weeks which is the Australian Standard Composting process, and was independently conducted under normal composting procedures by commercial composting plant. Location: South Australia

Observations : of the 150 pots that were placed within the soils/compost we located 1 set of 5 pots (still joined) which had begun to degrade however still remained, plus another 4 (singles) which also had not completely degraded which could be due to these not being located under the soil and had not had exposure to the correct composting process.

Result of this test was : 94% completely decomposed within the 6 week period, with the balance 6 % requiring further composting to achieve the 100% result that we required. This was due to observations commented by the commercial composting plant’s manageras to the cause of this 6% variation.
